About Us: Why We Ride Together
United Youth Cycling (UYC) was established in 2021 from a shared vision: to get more kids on bikes and keep them riding for life. What began as separate state initiatives has grown into a powerful national movement, uniting passionate advocates who believe in cycling's transformative power.
Our collaboration unites leading youth cycling organizations across the U.S. to break down barriers and create safe, inclusive spaces for all children. By sharing resources, expertise, and innovative approaches, we amplify our collective impact far beyond what any single organization could achieve alone.
Together, we address critical challenges like childhood obesity, mental health, and access inequities by fostering physical activity, confidence, and community through cycling. We believe every child deserves the freedom, joy, and developmental benefits that come from riding a bike.

Knowledge Exchange
Annual Summits held in locations like Phoenix, AZ, Minneapolis, MN, Nashville, TN, and Blue Ridge, GA, plus collaboration calls and working groups among UYC partner organizations to improve program quality, instructor training, and community outreach strategies.
Joint Initiatives
Collaborative projects like coach education and mountain bike coaching, supported by the UYC network, help contribute to a consistent, positive athlete experience and risk management.
Resource Sharing
UYC funding partnerships build initiatives, curriculum, and provide equipment grants to communities with limited resources, maximizing our collective impact. Additionally, UYC offers collective group purchasing for insurance, curriculum, and software through Uplifter to save costs and provide access to best products. These shared resources are optional for all UYC members, not requirements, ensuring flexibility while maximizing value.
